Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win. Everyone who competes in the games exercises self-control in all things. They then do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. Therefore I run in such a way, as not without aim; I box in such a way, as not beating the air; but I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified. -1 Corinthians 9:24-27

How is it that some people seem to accomplish so much with their lives and in their ministry, when others do so little?
Peak Performers have the same amount time in a day as you do.
What drives them? What motivates them to action? What do they have that you don’t?
Sure there are people who are driven by selfish desires and others are motivated by fear.
But what about the genuine Peak Performers? Those that change the world for good…or at least their own little corner of it…especially themselves, their families and their flock.
How and why did Jesus, the Apostles and other great men of faith accomplish so much? All the while, you may struggle with accomplishing even some of the basic things in life and ministry.
How did they and other Peak Performers stay on task?
Well, the answer to that is simple: The mystery to how and why Jesus and the Apostles were Peak Performers and accomplished so much comes down the following:
- They have a purpose in their lives that drives them.
- They have a crystal-clear vision of what that purpose looks like and what it will mean to them and to others.
- They have a calling and perhaps a divine calling to accomplish that purpose and vision.
Purpose-Vision-Calling…motivates them to action:
- To figure out ways to accomplish their purpose, their vision and their calling.
- To discover the secrets to Peak Performance, accomplishing goals, overcoming struggles, hurdles and adversity.
- To learn new things that will help them.
- To search for and uncover the best and most effective traits for achieving Peak Performance and accomplishing their purpose, vision and calling.
- To “press on for the goal”
- To “run with endurance the race set before them”
Stewardship: Once you have your Purpose, Vision and Calling, then it comes down your stewardship of them.
You will need to develop habits, traits and skills that help you achieve peak performance to accomplish your God-given Purpose, Vision and Calling.
